The idea is simple:

Take one AiR flag and send it around the world. Along the way take pictures to show us the world the flag travels in. Each person signs it with their ETS or TS handle. There is even space to transfer personal artwork. We would also like to follow NIN concert tours as much as possible. It's already been in the Birmingham video! (picture)

There are some changes to the process because of the PERFORMANCE 2008 TOUR
See this post for information requirements

How it normally works:

1. Email us with at least your city, state, zip, country and ETS/TS handle.
2. We will confirm you on the waiting list and add you to the Google Map.
3. Prior to the flag being shipped to you, we will send another confirmation email to ensure you are still at the same residence, get a complete mailing address if necessary, and a phone number.
4. The current flag bearer will be given the next address and will pay for shipping. Personal hand offs are encouraged (and will be quite easy if you live in close proximity or are going to the same concert).
5. When you have the flag, take pictures and/or video. Email them back to us along with descriptions, dates, and locations. (If you know about geotagging, then please help out because we geotag as many of the photos as possible.) Provide us with whatever dialog you want in your blog entry. Be as creative as you wish.
6. Your photos, videos, and dialog get posted. Additionally, we incorporate it all into a Google Earth Flag tour.
7. Normally, we'd expect the flag to be ready in about two weeks for the cycle to start over with a new handoff.

…And so it lands.
Its trip is lengthy due to postal strikes, screwing up my timetable.
To future bearers of the flag, make sure you plan out your main ports of call and make sure your team is highly trained, available, and willing.

Restructuring of the cloth

The flag arrives somewhat haphazardly created from a large sheet, folded and tied in place making the first session with the flag somewhat messy.
01. Esplanade Flag

The decision was made to give it some shape and unattached the patches to re-stitch them, as they were pinching the fabric. However there are no gifted seamstress's.
02. Reshape

So out came the gaffa tape.

Welcome to the Wirral!
That’s where we stood at the entrance the motorway. As we took this pic, the Police pulled up on our right. Needless to say we legged it!

…Yellow Submarine-
The Beatles were recruited to save Pepperland by bringing joy back to the land via music. Built 5 minutes from me in the world famous Cammell Lairds shipyard in 1984. Pictures are crap quality due to security taking a particular interest in us… Night time photography with unfamiliar flags outside international airports doesn't bode too well!!!

I live next to an Oil Refinery and thought we'd get some decent YZ style Imagery.
